Villenova Burial Association Love Remembered Bake/Craft Sale Today

The Villenova Burial Association fourth annual “Love Remembered” Bake/Craft sale will take place Saturday, Feb. 8 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the South Dayton Supermarket entryway, 303 Pine St., South Dayton. There will be dozens of homemade goodies and craft items. All proceeds help defray maintenance and operating costs of the Villenova Cemetery.

Sheridan Post 6390 VFW Auxiliary meeting and bake sale

The Auxiliary for the Sheridan VFW Post 6390 will hold its monthly meeting Monday, Feb. 10 at 6:30 p.m. at the Post, located at 2556 Route 20 in Sheridan.

Plans will be discussed for the upcoming Chili Cook Off fund-raiser scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 16 from 1 to 5 p.m. The public is invited to participate by entering a crockpot of chili for judging or by sampling and voting for the fan favorite. Prizes will be awarded. A basket raffle will be held. The phone number at the Post is 672-6011 for details.

Also planned is a special Valentine’s Day bake sale on Friday, Feb. 14 to be held in the lobby of the Post. The Valentine’s Day bake sale will run from 4:30 through the regular fish fry dining hours and will feature chocolate treats to honor the holiday.

Evans Garden Club

The Evans Garden Club will meet Tuesday, Feb. 11, at 7 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Angola Library, 34 N. Main St., Angola. Barb Henry, owner of Henry’s Garden Nursery, will present a talk about types and benefits of good soil, picking the right planting areas, lighting and more. Henry’s Garden Nursery is located at 7884 Sisson Highway, Eden. They are an established nursery that has been around for many years. All types of flowers are sold here, a variety of classes and workshops are offered. Custom bouquets can be made from their flower gardens. Refreshments will be served and all are invited to attend.
