Access Chautauqua lists Feb. 15-21 programs

“The Best Bookstore Within 60 Miles” is a brief documentary look at Reta Carden’s “East Branch Books” and historic Sherman, N.Y. The program is a snapshot of the rural retail decline happening all across the country and runs at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m.

“Martz Observatory Open Doors” is a profile of Chautauqua County’s least known (locally) national treasure, the Martz-Kohl observatory atop the county’s second tallest elevation. A tour of the double-domed observatory is narrated by officers/astronomers of the public institution. The program airs at 1:15 p.m. and 7:15 p.m.

“Chautauqua Sunrise,” hosted by Doc Hamels, will have guest MaryAnn Spanos from the Chautauqua County Office for the Aging. Her topic is estate planning. The program airs live at 9 a.m. on Saturday only, then repeats at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m.

“Fresh Perspectives,” hosted by Gail Erb, features the musical group “Chautauqua Brass,” comprised of musicians Devin Bennett, Daniel Marion, Bobby Fisco and Landon Gray. The program is at 3 p.m. and 9 p.m.

Repeat programming is typically re-aired throughout the week at other various time slots.

All programming starts on Saturday, Feb. 15 with the final airing on Friday, Feb. 21.

Access Chautauqua, formerly Access Channel 5, is available to cable viewers in the Chautauqua, Mayville, North Harmony, Portland, Ripley, Sherman, and Westfield areas, and can be found on cable channel 1301.

The programs may also be viewed after the initial airing at the station’s web site https://accesschautauquacountytv.org.

Northern Chautauqua Conservation Club Ladies Auxiliary monthly meeting set for Feb. 12

The Northern Chautauqua Conservation Club Ladies Auxiliary monthly meeting will take place Wednesday, Feb. 12 at 6:30 p.m. at 1 N. Mullet St., Dunkirk. Upcoming events will be discussed. New members are welcome. For details, call Cindy at 366-2473.

Sons of the Legion, Squad 434 Brocton monthly meeting to be held Tuesday

The Sons of the Legion, Squad 434 Brocton, will hold their monthly meeting Tuesday, Feb. 11 at 7 p.m. The meeting is held at the Brocton Legion 110 West Main St.

Additional February programming announced for Anderson-Lee Library

Anderson-Lee Library, located at 43 Main St. in Silver Creek, will hold two additional workshop during the month of February. Registration is required. Register by calling the library at 934-3468, stopping by 43 Main St., or by using the easy online sign-up at www.andersonleelibrary.org. It is also possible to sign up for text and e-mail reminders!

Tuesday, Feb. 11, from 3 to 4 p.m. is a presentation “Credit Scores and Reports.” Many have heard about Credit Scores and Reports, but this is an opportunity to learn more! Plan on attending this free and informative financial education workshop offered by M&T Bank.

Thursday, Feb. 20 and 27 from 6 to 7 p.m. will be “Natural and Healthy Weight Loss” with Kristian Reiber. In this 2-part workshop series, Kristian Reiber, IAWP Certified Holistic Wellness Coach, will teach how to debunk weight loss and diet myths and help focus on natural and healthy weight loss.
