Arkwright board meets via Zoom

The Arkwright Town Board will hold its regular monthly Town Board meeting on Monday at 7:30 pm at the Town Hall. In complying with current meeting restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the public is invited to attend via Zoom. The link for the meeting is:

JCC committees to meet Tuesday

The Jamestown Community College Finance and Audit Committee will meet on Tuesday at 3 p.m. The Ad Hoc Committee for the Cattaraugus County Campus will meet on Tuesday at 4 p.m. All of the meetings will be held via Zoom webinar technology. To register, visit www.sunyjcc.edu/events.

Town of Stockton Town-wide cleanup for residents only

A Town of Stockton Town-wide cleanup for residents only will take place Friday, June 12 from 3 to 6 p.m. and Saturday, June 13 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Deliver trash to the Highway Department Storage Building, 4696 W. Railroad Ave., Stockton. This is for appliances, trash and junk only. No garbage will be accepted.

The following will not be accepted: tires, liquid waste, paints, oils, batteries, computers, appliances with Freon (i.e. humidifiers, refrigerators).

Appliances containing Freon and electronics, including computers are accepted at the following transfer stations: Fredonia, Falconer, Sherman and Frewsburg.

Portland Fire District meeting Monday

The June meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the Portland Fire District which, was to be held on Monday at 7:30 p.m. has been canceled. There will be a meeting at 6:30 p.m. Monday for the purpose of audit and approval to pay the monthly district bills. No other business is expected to come before the board.

Cassadaga Farmers Market set to open June 14

Citizens for a Better Cassadaga, in conjunction with Roberto Fred Farms, announced that the Cassadaga Farmers Market will be starting on Sunday, June 14. As in the past, the market will take place every Sunday from 12:30-3:30 p.m. through Sept. 13. The market will be held at Ames Common on the corner of Route 60 and Maple Avenue in the village of Cassadaga. Fred Farms will be offering fresh, locally grown fruits and vegetables. Maple syrup, honey and special food items will be available as well. Vendors of locally produced products that are interested in joining the market are asked to contact Roberto Fred at 410-3817.
