Faith, prayer event today in Dunkirk

A gathering of faith and prayer will take place in Dunkirk this afternoon.

Pastor Pablo Alvira of Assembly of Christian Churches said the gathering will begin at noon in the area of Eagle and Third streets. “All are welcome,” he said.

The event is not tied to the peaceful protest that begins at 11 a.m. at the Dunkirk Pier, Alvira said.

However, the event will offer a time for prayer and reflection in the wake of the COVID-19 national crisis and recent tumult that has occurred since the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis. This has led to great unrest in major cities, including Buffalo.
