Brocton/Portland Republican Committee seeks candidates

The Brocton/Portland Republican Committee is seeking candidates to run in the November 2020 general election. Positions open are for two Brocton village trustee seats with a four-year term and Brocton mayor with a four-year term. Committee members are looking for Republicans who live in the village to run. The committee will hold a caucus at 9 a.m. July 11 at the Portland Community Park. Any village resident interested can contact Gary Miller at 672-9335 for more information. The committee is looking for new members.

Summer Pig Out July 11

STOCKTON — The fifth annual Skinner-Ville Summer Pig Out is scheduled for Saturday, July 11, but due to COVID-19 restrictions organizers will accept drive-through/pick-up orders. The annual event raises money for Chautauqua Hospice and Palliative Care. The event starts at 3 p.m. at the Chautauqua County Fireman’s Fraternity Grounds in Stockton and continues until sold out. Those attending should enter at 4641 Railroad Ave. Tickets are $15 a person and include a pulled pork dinner, side dishes, beverage and entry for a door prize. Children’s meals are $5 and include a hot dog, macaroni salad, chips, drink and entry for a hand-carved Lion King table and chairs.
