Hydrant flushing begins Monday in city

Between midnight and 6 a.m. starting on Monday, Dunkirk will begin conducting its annual flushing of water mains and fire hydrants throughout the city.

This process will take approximately three weeks and during this time residents may, for brief periods, experience slightly cloudy water and reduced water pressure. The water department recommends that residents please let water run until clear before laundering and cooking.

Silver Creek sets hearing, meeting Monday

SILVER CREEK — A public hearing regarding the cable TV franchise agreement will be at 6:45 p.m. and a 7 p.m. meeting will follow. Anyone interested in attending will need to call the clerk’s office to be on the list. Both meetings will be available by video or teleconference. Call for the code and number.

County Genealogical Society meeting

The Tuesday meeting of the Chautauqua County Genealogical Society will be held at the American Legion Post 1280, 228 Maple Ave., Cassadaga.

Michelle Henry, Chautauqua County historian, will be the featured speaker. Her presentation will be on Indigent Soldier Burial Records. She will also update the continued research being done at the County level.
