County Clerk’s office closed to public

Due to the increase in COVID-19 cases in Chautauqua County, Larry Barmore, county clerk, has decided to close the County Clerk’s office to the public effective immediately. Barmore and his staff will monitor the number of COVID-19 cases and make a decision when to reopen. All documents may be mailed to the clerk’s office, PO Box 170, Mayville, NY 14757 or be electronically filed or recorded.

VFW Auxiliary meeting canceled

SHERIDAN — The Sheridan VFW 6390 Auxiliary will not be holding its regular meeting due to the post being closed for the month of December. Members who have not paid their annual dues yet are reminded that they should be in by the end of the month to remain active and to continue to support the auxiliary’s efforts on behalf of veterans. Coupons for the troops are still being collected and sent. Anyone with coupons to contribute can drop them off at the home of the auxiliary president. A batch is being prepared for mailing before Christmas. Donations were made to the Blue Star Mothers for their packages overseas; thank you to all who contributed. The possibility of a meeting next month will need to be determined.
