Year-end meeting set for Perrysburg

The Perrysburg Town Board will hold a special year-end meeting on Wednesday, Dec. 30 at 7 p.m. The meeting will take place at the Perrysburg Town Hall, 10460 Peck Hill Road.

COVID-19 cancels luncheon

Due to COVID-19 the Northern Chautauqua County Juneteenth Celebration Committee and the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Luncheon Committee will not be holding the luncheon on Monday, Jan. 18, to celebrate the birthday of Dr. King. The luncheon has been held in the city of Dunkirk and/or the village of Fredonia for more than 40 years. However, in addition to the Janice D. Slaton, Esq. Scholarship, the committee will be sponsoring a “See Me” Literacy Drive beginning Monday, Dec. 21, through Monday, Jan. 11. The “See Me” Literacy Drive seeks to provide books and/or games to children ages 1 to 21 that reflect the culture and community in which they live. To donate money and/or a book to the “See Me” Literacy Drive or the scholarship fund, call the Juneteenth Committee at 363-1102. Book distribution will begin Monday, Jan. 18, as well as the announcement of scholarship recipients.
