Republican committee looks to fill vacancies

The Fredonia-Pomfret Republican Committee is looking for a interested persons to fill the following vacancies in the November 2021 election cycle:

¯ Town of Pomfret: clerk, supervisor, highway and two council seats.

¯ Village of Fredonia: justice, two trustee vacancy’s, and District 4/5 legislator.

Drive-through chicken barbecue being sponsored

DUNKIRK — The Blessed Mary Angela Holy Name Society will be sponsoring a drive-through chicken barbecue at the parish social center, 324 Townsend St., on Saturday. The church will serve Weidner’s chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, a fresh baked roll and a snickerdoodle cookie. The cost is $12. Serving time is noon to 4 p.m. All proceeds from the dinner will go to the refurbishing of statues in the parish. Tickets are available at Big Rick’s on Lake Shore Drive East and the 4th Ward Deli on Doughty Street.

Sewer board to meet Jan. 26

The Portland, Pomfret, Dunkirk Sewer District board will meet at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 26, at the Dunkirk town meeting room on Willow Road. Due to social distancing the public may only attend through a conference call number. For access to the conference call number and access code, call the district office at 753-7788 before the meeting date and time.
