Fredonia Food Pantrty open today

Today, March 20, the Fredonia Food Pantry will be open from 10 a.m. until noon at Fredonia Presbyterian Church, 219 Central Ave. The pantry serves the needs of residents of Fredonia, area code 14063, Pomfret, Sheridan, and Laona. All guests receive one or more bags of non-perishable food. The number of bags given out depends on family size.

Can drive to support prom in Silver Creek

SILVER CREEK – Juniors and seniors at Silver Creek High are planning a prom event to celebrate the end of the 2020-21 academic year and are asking for the public’s support via a can/bottles and plastics drive.

The community is encouraged to support these Black Knights by donating refundable cans on Saturday, March 27 from 9 and 11 a.m. at the main entrance of the high school at 1 Dickinson St.

If you can’t attend the public collection on March 27, you may drop off cans/bottles/plastics at Can Kings, 1267 Routes 5 & 20 in Silver Creek, during business hours through Saturday, April 17. But please make sure to mention they are donations for the junior/senior class prom at Silver Creek.

The Class of 2021 and Class of 2022 are grateful to all who are helping them fundraise to plan a safe prom and to Can Kings for collaborating on this effort.
