Sinclairville opens recreation grounds

SINCLAIRVILLE — The village of Sinclairville recreation grounds have been opened to the public. Social distancing and face masks will be required.

Church plans special Easter Sunrise service

GOWANDA — Trinity UCC of Gowanda will hold a special event to commemorate the resurrection of Jesus Christ on Easter morning at a sunrise service on Sunday.

It will be held on a hilltop with service provided complimentary by a New York and Lake Erie Railroad departing from the Gowanda Depot, 50 Commercial St., Gowanda, at 5:30 a.m. Sunday.

Pastor Dave Gable of the Assembly of God will officiate. Service will begin at sunrise and upon completion, the NY&LE train will return reserved guests to the Gowanda Depot.

There is a limit of 100 passengers. Reservations are requested by Love INC at 532-3541 on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.

COVID-19 protocols include mandatory mask-wearing while on railroad property.

Villenova bridge to remain closed

Bartlett Hill Road, west of Dye Road in the town of Villenova, will remain closed to traffic until May 1. Only local traffic is permitted.

Hospital to sponsor shed it event

WESTFIELD — The Westfield Memorial Hospital Auxiliary will sponsor a shred-it event on Saturday, April 3, from 10 a.m. until noon in the hospital parking lot.

The cost is $10 per container. A container is anything that can be handled.

As COVID-19 numbers fall and the number of vaccinations increases, the auxiliary starting to hold some of its fund raisers. To participate drive through the hospital parking lot. Someone will remove the items and people can pay from their vehicle.

Prekindergarten enrollment underway at CVCS

SINCLAIRVILLE — Enrollment is currently underway for Cassadaga Valley Central School’s 2021-22 kindergarten and universal pre-kindergarten programs at Sinclairville Elementary School.

The UPK program is available to children who will be four years old on or before Dec. 1, 2021. Parents/guardians of children who meet this age requirement should have received the enrollment forms in the mail. There are no income eligibility restrictions for families residing within the school district.

Chautauqua County Planning Board to meet

The Chautauqua County Planning Board’s monthly meeting will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday. The meeting will be held via videoconferencing, as permitted by the state Open Meetings Law.
