Moose plans Towel Tingo event
GOWANDA — A Towel Raffle Party Tingo Event will be hosted by Gowanda Loyal Order Of Moose 1382 at 201 Aldrich St, Gowanda. The event will be at noon Saturday. Covid protocols will be in place, social distancing and masks must be worn.
Stockton church hosts soloist Sunday
STOCKTON — On Sunday at 11 a.m., soloist Dan Schall will present a concert in the Stockton Community Church at 4554 W. Railroad Avenue. Schall is from Zelienople, Pa., and through his music he spreads his love for Jesus Christ. Schall focuses on encouragement and God’s Love for mankind. A freewill offering will be taken. Social distancing and wearing masks will be observed. The concert is open to everyone, and everyone is welcome.
Fredonia pantry open on April 17
On Saturday, April 17, The Fredonia Food Pantry will be open from 10 a.m. until noon at Fredonia Presbyterian Church at 219 Central Ave. The pantry serves the needs of residents of Fredonia, area code 14063, Pomfret, Sheridan, and Laona. All guests receive one or more bags of non-perishable food. Number of bags given out depends on family size.
Auxiliary sets meeting Monday
SHERIDAN — The Auxiliary for the Sheridan Veterans of Foreign Wars 6390 will hold its monthly meeting on Monday at 6:30 p.m. at the post located at 2556 Route 20. During this meeting, annual nominations and election of officers will be conducted.
Due to COVID restrictions, current officers were held over from the previous year. This year is an opportunity for more involvement.
All members are encouraged to take an active role in the operation of our organization. Nominees must be present at the meeting or submit a signed acceptance prior to the meeting if unable to attend.
Coupons for the troops and items for VA hospital donations will be accepted. Unpaid memberships are asked to please consider renewing as soon as possible, a strong auxiliary can better help to support the needs of our veterans and our military.
Code enforcement issues February report
The Fredonia code enforcement report for February was noted recently. In it there were: 12 issued building permits; 31 inspections; certificates of occupancy was 24; certificates of compliance were 20; six violations were found; fees collected for permits was $485; rental fees were $1,465; certificates of compliance was $1,000; zoning was $200 with total fees equalling $3,150. There were eight rental inspections, five property maintenance inspections and removal of two junk cars. Twelve stop work orders were issued for improper practices or failure to get permits.
Club Associates to meet April 25
FORESTVILLE — The Northern Chautauqua County Club Associates will hold its regular monthly meeting on Sunday, April 25 at 10:30 a.m. at the J Carter Knapp Post, 6 Cedar St. All current COVID restrictions will be enforced. Please wear a mask.
