Portland fire commissioners to meet

PORTLAND — Due to the rescheduling of the Portland Fire Departments April meeting, the Board of Commissioners of the Portland Fire District will be holding its regular meeting at 7:30 p.m. Monday. Masks and proper social distancing are still required.

Chicken barbecue set for Wednesday

The East Dunkirk Ladies Auxiliary will host a Chiavetta’s chicken barbecue from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday or until sold out. Tickets are $10 at the East Dunkirk Fire Hall, 10949 S. Roberts Road, Dunkirk. This event will be drive-through only. For more information, call 680-2729.

Legion Auxiliary meeting today

Dunkirk Memorial American Legion Unit 62 Auxiliary monthly meeting is scheduled for today at 7 p.m. The annual Memorial Day Chicken Barbeque and Auxiliary Silent Auction will be held May 31 from noon to sold out.

Silent auction donations are now being collected and tickets are available at the post. Dues for 2021 are being accepted to maintain membership in good standing. Post 62 continues to follow New York state COVID-19 guidelines to keep our employees and members safe.
