St. Elizabeth Ann Seton plans chicken barbecue for Oct. 10

A Weidner’s chicken barbecue will be at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish Hall, Fourth Street, Dunkirk on Sunday, Oct. 10 from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. The cost is $12 for adults, which includes half a barbecued chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, a vegetable, bread and butter, dessert and beverage or $8 for children which includes a quarter chicken with all the fixings. Dining options include take-out or eat in. Pre-sale tickets are available in the rectory office, after the 5 p.m., 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. weekend Masses or from committee members.

Murray Post, VFW list upcoming dinners

The John T. Murray Post 1017 Auxiliary on Deer Street in Dunkirk will be having a take-out only meatloaf dinner from 7 to 7 p.m. Sept. 22. A donation of $10 includes salad, mash potatoes, meatloaf, vegetable and dessert. Tickets can be bought at the post. Fro more information call 341-1328.

In addition, an advancement fundraiser for Department VFW ViceDan Kell and Department Vice Rosalie Cooper will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sept. 25. It will be held at the Silver Creek VFW on Main Street. Dinner is salad, spaghetti, meatballs, bread, and dessert for $10. Presale tickets will be available at the post and also at the door. A raffle will also be held.open to the public take out available

Class of ’55 plans luncheon

The Dunkirk High School Class of 1955 will meet for lunch at noon, Tuesday, Sept. 21, at Shorewood Country Club. No reservation is needed and classmates can just attend at that time.

Elks plan meatloaf dinner Saturday

The Dunkirk Elks members will be cooking up a scrumptious meatloaf dinner on Saturday at the Lodge. The doors open at 5 p.m. for all to enjoy a hearty meal which will also include mashed potatoes, green beans, and homemade desserts.

Dinners will be served until 9 or until sold out. The newly updated ballroom will be set up following COVID-19 guidance to allow those to dine in. For the people who do not feel comfortable dinning in, take-out will be available. A donation of $10 for adults and $5 for children under 12 will be collected at the door. Please come out and support your local Elks.
