DOT Breakfast club meets

The New York State Department of Transportation Breakfast Club will meet at 10 a.m. on Thursday at Native Pride in Irving. All retirees are welcome, and anyone with questions is asked to call 716-965-2007.

Class of 1972 to hold 50th anniversary

The Fredonia High School Class of 1972 will hold its 50-year reunion beginning at 6 p.m. each night on Friday, July 1, and Saturday, July 2, at the Clarion, 30 Lake Shore Drive East, Dunkirk. The cost for July 1 is $25 per person and will include roast beef, pizza, wings, fruit and veggie trays and drinks. The cost for July 2 is $30 and will include a buffet, harvest stuffed chicken, crab stuffed fish, pork loin, potato, vegetable, salad, rolls and dessert. Clean Up Cassadaga Day is April 30

CASSADAGA — All village of Cassadaga residents are encouraged to take advantage of the second annual Clean Up Cassadaga Day which is to be held on Saturday, April 30 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Residents can bring their junk to the DPW building on Maple Avenue and get rid of it for free. Residents are also encouraged to pick up any trash around their neighborhood. Guidelines for this free service include: One pickup load per resident and no household garbage or demo waste. Appliances, electronics, and tires are not accepted. These items may be disposed of at the Chautauqua County Landfill for a small fee. No hazardous waste such as paint, oil or batteries will be accepted. Chautauqua County’s Hazardous Waste Disposal Day is Sept. 17 at the Falconer Highway Department Building.

Reservations required for annual Taste of the South

The Juneteenth 2022 Celebration Committee will be sponsoring the Annual Taste of the South on Friday, May 6, from 4-7 p.m. at Open Door No. 3 Church of God in Christ, 59 Lake Shore Drive West, Dunkirk. The theme for the event is “Summer Enjoyment.” Dinners will be take-out only. The annual Taste of the South is a Southern style African-American down home barbecue featuring barbecue ribs, barbecue chicken, shredded pork, macaroni and cheese, sweet potato casserole, corn on the cob, green beans, white potatoes, corn bread, banana pudding, and many other dishes. Chicken and biscuit dinner set

FORESTVILLE — A chicken and biscuit dinner will be held at St. Rose of Lima on Wednesday. The menu is biscuits with chicken gravy, green salad, vegetable and dessert. The dinner will be available for pickup only at the St. Rose of Lima church hall, 11 Center St., Forestville, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. or until sold out. The cost is $12. Proceeds will be donated to the Forestville Food Pantry. To pick up dinners, enter the St. Rose of Lima parking lot and follow the signs to volunteers who will collect money and deliver the meals to vehicles.

Country Kids on the Fly meetings resume

SINCLAIRVILLE – Country Kids on the Fly will resume meetings at the Sinclairville Free Library, 15 Main St., on Saturdays from 10:30 a.m. to noon beginning April 23. This is a free program for ages 8 and up to learn fly tying techniques. All tools and materials will be provided. Parents must accompany youngsters to the first meeting to fill out and sign important papers.
