Music jam

sessions planned

LEON — The Leon Historical Society is hosting a country and western music jam session from 2 to 3 p.m. July 31, Aug. 28, Sept. 25 and Oct. 30 at the 1832 Church at the four corners in Leon. Those attending can perform or come to listen to the music. For more information, call Pat 716-296-5709.

Association to meet Aug. 16

SOUTH DAYTON — There will be a special meeting of the Villenova Burial Association on Tuesday, Aug. 16, at 6:30 p.m. at the Villenova Town Hall, 1094 Butcher Road, South Dayton. All association members are asked to attend. Members are those who own a lot or are an heir to someone already buried in the Villenova Cemetery.

National Night Out is Wednesday

CASSADAGA — The village of Cassadaga and Citizens for a Better Cassadaga will participate in National Night Out to showcase first responders from local police and fire agencies. National Night Out will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the ballfields behind BOCES, 175 Maple Ave., Cassadaga. Fire department equipment from the Cassadaga and Stockton volunteer fire departments will be on display. The Chautauqua Country Sheriff’s Department and the New York State Police will have demonstrations as well as K-9 officers. Bubba’s Food Wagon will be there for those wishing to purchase snacks along with a bounce obstacle course. The local Cub Scout Pack will have information and sign-ups as well.

Quilt show is set

SINCLAIRVILLE — The Valley Historical Society will host a quilt show at the museum in Sinclairville on Saturday, Aug. 6, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday, Aug. 7, from 1 to 4 p.m. Admission is free. There will be both new and old quilts on display. To have a quilt displayed, call Betty Jean Ridout at 716-962-2309.
