Parenting sessions planned on Thursdays

JAMESTOWN — Prevention Works and the Mental Health Association in Chautauqua County are partnering to provide parenting sessions. Prevention Works’ Parenting Facilitator, Tracy Jespersen will be implementing Triple P Parenting discussion groups for parents or caregivers of children ages birth to 12 years of age. Topics include dealing with disobedience, developing good bedtime routines, hassle-free shopping, and fighting and aggression. Triple P Parenting is a scientifically researched family support strategy designed to help parents improve their parenting skills, increase confidence, and build positive relationships with their children.

These discussion groups are being offered free of charge through a grant from the United Way of Southern Chautauqua County.

Groups will be held at the Mental Health Association, 31 Water St., Suite 7, in Jamestown, NY, from 10 a.m. to noon on Thursdays. Zoom option is available upon registering. Walk-ins always welcome.

Multi-class reunion set for Aug. 23

SILVER CREEK — Attention alumni of the Silver Creek Central School for the Classes of 1960 to ’70. Mark your calendar for Aug. 23 for the second annual ’60s multi-class reunion.

If you missed the first one, here’s your chance to join in on the fun! Classes from 1960-1970 are busy planning a day filled with food and reminiscing through the years. Have you ever thought, “I wonder what happened to (fill in the blank)? Here’s your chance to find out. Just bring a dish to pass, your favorite lawn chair and beverage if you want (we will provide water), sorry no alcohol or glass bottles of any type are allowed.

This gathering happening will be at the Silver Creek Ballpark pavilion 11 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Spouses, significant others, partners, guests are welcome.
