Mayville DMV location closed this week

MAYVILLE – The Department of Motor Vehicle Office located at the Hall Clothier Building, 7 N. Erie St. in Mayville, NY, will be closed for the remainder of this week due to staffing shortages. Operations are scheduled to resume on Monday, June 10.

Residents are encouraged to utilize online DMV services available at dmv.ny.gov for various transactions, including license renewals, registration renewals, and more.

Additionally, the following DMV locations in Chautauqua County will remain open to serve your needs:

Jamestown DMV: 512 W. 3rd St., Jamestown.

Dunkirk DMV: 3998 Vineyard Drive, Dunkirk.

Bridge work closes county road

SHERIDAN — Walnut Creek Road, County Route 85, in the towns of Sheridan and Hanover, between Straight Road and Ryder Road, was closed to all traffic effective Tuesday. This closure is due to replacement of County Bridge 849. A detour will be posted. This closure shall remain in effect until the replacement bridge is completed and said detour signs are removed.

Westfield Village Board To Meet

WESTFIELD – The Village of Westfield will hold a special Village Board of Trustees meeting on Tuesday, June 11 at 6:30 p.m. in the North Room of Eason Hall. The purpose of the meeting is to finalize the State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQRA) review process for a water system improvements project and pass a bond resolution to finance the project.

‘Walk For Life’

set for June 9

GOWANDA — Tri-County pregnancy center will hold its annual “Walk For Life” on Sunday June 9 at the Gowanda Assembly of God Church, 78 Allen St.

Registration begins at noon and the walk starts at 12:30. Walker packets are available at Johnson’s Plumbing and Heating Inc., 57 Commercial St. Donations by mail are accepted at Walk for Life, P.O. Box 367 Gowanda NY 14070. For more information please call the center at 716-532-9738.

Church to be part of yard sale

SOUTH DAYTON — The Family Ministries Team of Fredonia First Methodist Church located at 25 Church St. is having a yard sale and South Dayton Doughnut Sale on Saturday. Come and browse treasures and make them your own. Coffee, water and doughnuts are on sale from 9 a.m. until sold out. The Yard Sale will conclude at 3 p.m.

Community gears for yard sales

FORESTVILLE — Forestville Community Yard Sales will be held on June 8 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Residents may sign up at Cave’s Market or Evans Bank. Cost is $5 per household. List of sales locations available at Cave’s Market on the day of sales.

Blood drive planned for June 12

A blood drive has been scheduled for Wednesday, June 12 at Brooks-TLC Hospital in Dunkirk from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. All donors will get $5 Tim Hortons gift cards.

Sons of Revolution meet Saturday

STOCKTON — The Chautauqua County Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution will meet on Saturday at the Stockton Hotel at 12:30 p.m. Meal choices are from the menu.

There will be a presentation by local DAR member Brenda Johnson on the Lafayette 200 program, scheduled for 2025 in Fredonia.

On Sunday, the group will be joining the local DAR in a Patriot marker dedication at 2 p.m. in the Stillwater Cemetery, and at 3 p.m. in the Kiantone Cemetery.
