Community Yard Sales

set for Saturday

FORESTVILLE — Forestville Community Yard Sales will be held Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. A list of sales locations will be available at Cave’s Market on the day of sales.

PVCS moves Tractor Day

SOUTH DAYTON — Due to the forecast prediction for Friday, Pine Valley Central Schools are moving Tractor Day to next Wednesday, June 12.

Trinity United Church of

Christ free community meal

GOWANDA — The Trinity United Church, located at Erie Avenue and Park Street, Gowanda, will host a take-out only free community meal at the Park Street entrance on Saturday from 4 to 6 p.m. or gone. The menu is Swedish meatballs, mashed potatoes,vegetable, fruit and a cookie. Free will donations are appreciated but not necessary. Drive East Main to Railroad Avenue and then down Park Street, following the signs, or walk up. Everyone is welcome. The next meal is July 13.

Historical Society holding series on Holland Land Co.

LEON — The Leon Historical Society is holding the second series in the “Holland Land Co.” on Saturday, June 15 at 11 a.m. in the 1836 Church.

Catherine Oag-Miller, archivist at the Barker Museum in Fredonia, will be the presenter. Surveyor Joseph Ellicott will be featured, along with his two brothers who also were surveyors.

Light refreshments will be served. Donations are always appreciated for the steeple fund.

Retirees to gather at Shorewood

The Niagara Mohawk and National Grid retirees luncheon will be Tuesday at noon at Shorewood Country Club.

Congregation sets

Sunday service

The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Northern Chautauqua, located at 222 Temple St., Fredonia, holds a Sunday Worship Service at 11 a.m., both at their physical location and on Zoom.

The theme for June is Renewal. On Sunday, a service celebrating the annual Flower Communion and Second Chances with Rev. Ron Skowronski will be held.

If you attend in person, please bring a flower or a sprig of greenery to share during our traditional Flower Communion ceremony. If you attend on Zoom, please have a flower, bud or plant to share via Zoom.

After the June 9 service, weekly worship will return in the fall.

Library planning Lego event

SINCLAIRVILLE — The Sinclairville Free Library invites families to a “LEGO S.T.E.M.” program at the library on Monday at 6 p.m. Children will enjoy building with a variety of Lego pieces and may take home their builds. A parent or caregiver must stay at the library with the child. Space is limited and pre-registration is required and can be made by calling the library at 716.962.5885 or by email to info@sinclairvillelibrary.org. Information about upcoming library events and a contact form to register are available on the website at www.sinclairvillelibrary.org. The library will be closed on Wednesday, June 19 in observance of the Juneteenth holiday.
