Lakeshore Humane Society seeks donations for 20th Annual Giant Yard Sale

The Lakeshore Humane Society’s 20th Annual Giant Yard Sale will be held Friday, Aug. 16 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (a day of early bird shopping, with a $3 entrance fee for this day only); Saturday, Aug. 17 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and Sunday, Aug. 18 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Floral Hall at the Chautauqua County Fairgrounds. The Fairgrounds is located at 1089 Central Ave. in Dunkirk.

The Yard Sale is LHS’s biggest fundraiser of the year, as the organization works to help companion animals be safe, healthy, and find permanent, loving homes.

All three days of the event, there will also be a bake sale, basket drawings, a special “Rake in the Bucks” drawing (a rake full of scratch-off tickets), and hot dogs and drinks for sale.

Gently used items to be contributed to the Yard Sale can be dropped off at Floral Hall Tuesday, Aug. 13 and Wednesday, Aug. 14 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day. (Drop-offs of donated items will not be accepted on Thursday, Aug. 15. Please do NOT bring items to the LHS Adoption Center.)

LHS respectfully asks that donated objects be in saleable condition. Also, please, no large appliances, microwaves, metal bed springs, mattresses, tires, magazines, textbooks, encyclopedias, clothing, shoes, suitcases, VHS tapes, cassette tapes, electronics (TVs, computer monitors, towers and printers), or outdoor plants. (Due to NYS regulations involving invasive species, LHS cannot sell outdoor plants. LHS can only sell indoor house plants.)

LHS appreciates the community’s support of this major fundraiser. If anyone would like to volunteer to assist in the work at the Yard Sale, call the LHS Adoption Center at 716-672-1991 and leave a message. For more information, see www.lakeshorehumanesociety.org or call 716-672-1991.

Starting at $2.99/week.
