Spaghetti dinner set for Election Day
Tuesday is Election Day, the day all of the United States is encouraged to vote. It is also the Elks Lodge 922 Annual Spaghetti Dinner.
Whether you voted early or are voting on Election Day, all are welcome to the Elks Lodge located at 428 Central Ave., Dunkirk, for a homemade spaghetti and meatball dinner. Also included with the meal are salad, bread, and dessert. Dinner starts at 4 p.m. and ends at 7 or sold out. Take out is available. The cost remains at $10 for adults and $7 for children 12 and under.

St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Hispanic Ministry Guadalupe Celebration planned
This year the celebration for Our Lady of Guadalupe will take place on Dec. 8 after the 11:30 a.m. Mass at St Hedwig Church, at South Roberts Road and Doughty Street, Dunkirk. After Mass, there will be the traditional procession from the church to the Hall.
This year the celebration will take place at St Hedwig’s Hall, 324 Townsend St., Dunkirk. There will be a theme basket raffle and a 50-50 raffle. Everyone in the Lord’s Vineyard Family is invited to come and to bring a dish to pass. Donations of gift baskets are greatly appreciated. Baskets can be dropped off at the Central Office, 1030 Central Ave., Dunkirk.
School of Music opens
registration for first high school band, orchestra festival
Student ensembles are invited to join the High School Band and Orchestra Festival at the State University of New York at Fredonia School of Music.
The inaugural festival, scheduled for March 27 and 28, will offer opportunities for high school students to engage with School of Music directors Professor Paula Holcomb (Bands) and Assistant Professor Emily Schaad (Orchestras).
A performance clinic, ensemble feedback and a majors fair are included in the festival. Directors of school groups have the option to select which day of the festival to attend and to add a campus tour and lunch in the dining hall. The registration fee is $125 per ensemble.

Neighborhood Nature program begins
SINCLAIRVILLE — The Sinclairville Free Library invites children ages 10 and up to a new “Neighborhood Nature” program to be held on the following Saturdays in November from 1 to 2 p.m. on Nov. 2, 9, 16, and 23. Cassadaga Valley Science Teacher Corinne Kelly will be the nature guide for this fun hands-on program that takes place in the library and encourages children to explore and connect with the plants, animals, and ecosystems right in their own backyards. Participants will earn badges to become a certified “Nature Neighbor.” The library will be closed on Monday, Nov. 11 to observe Veterans Day and Nov. 28 to 30 for the Thanksgiving holiday.
