Auxiliary planning basket raffle

Fredonia Legion Auxiliary Unit 59 is holding a Spa Day Basket Raffle. Tickets are on sale at the Legion, 156 E. Main St. Fredonia, at the bar for $5 each. Drawing is May 10. Music will be featuring Erin and Ian from 6 to 8 p.m. Come on out and support the Ladies. Proceeds benefit local veterans organizations.

Area Democrats to meet on Tuesday

The Fredonia-Pomfret Democratic Association will meet this month at Johnson’s Adult Care, Executive Offices at 1 Park Place, second floor, at 6:30 pm. on Tuesday. Those who are interested in attending and have any questions, can contact Susan Parker at Fredoniapomfretdemocrats@gmail.com.

Fred Basket notes May hours

On Saturday, May 17, Fred Basket previously known as The Fredonia Food Pantry will be open from 10 a.m. until noon at Fredonia Presbyterian Church at 219 Central Ave. Additionally, it is open Wednesdays from 1 to 3 p.m. and Thursdays from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Guests may only receive one helping a month.

These new hours hope to serve those who cannot attend on Saturdays the food pantry serves the needs of residents of Fredonia, and ZIP code 14063, Pomfret, Sheridan, and Laona. All guests receive one or more bags of non-perishable food. Number of bags given out depends on family size.

Sheridan Cemetery Association meets

SHERIDAN — The Annual Meeting of the Sheridan Cemetery Association, Inc. will be held at the Sheridan Historical Society on Monday at 7 p.m. for the election of directors and the transaction of business. All lot owners eligible to attend.

Legion Auxiliary meets Thursday

FREWSBURG — The Chautauqua County American Legion Auxiliary monthly meeting will be hosted by Samuel L. Derby Unit 556 on Thursday, with dessert at 6:30 p.m., followed by the meeting at 7 p.m. The County Memorial Service will be held; please report recent unit deaths to the County Chaplain. Nominations for 2025-26 County Officers will be accepted; auxiliary members are encouraged to consider serving. Units are urged to have a representative attend.
