Pine Valley art show set for May 20 in South Dayton

SOUTH DAYTON The community is invited to l Pine Valley Central School District’s annual Art Show on Tuesday, May 20 from 5-7 p.m.

Featuring the artwork of students in Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade, the show takes place at Pine Valley Jr./Sr. High School.

New this year is “Teachers/Staff from the Valley Art Exhibit” on display. In addition, there will be a Gummy Bear Guessing contest and a $1 bake sale fundraiser.

Arkwright Summit Cemetery annual meeting set

The Arkwright Summit Cemetery will hold its annual meeting at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 21 at the James Prince residence, 2070 Route 83, Forestville. All interested are welcome. For information contact 716-467-0886.

Legion Auxiliary holding rummage sale

CASSADAGA — The Cassadaga Legion Auxiliary Unit 1280 rummage sale will be Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Towel Bingo planned for Saturday

FORESTVILLE — Forestville Order of the Eastern Star is having Towel Bingo on Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Forestville Masonic Lodge, Main Street. Doors open at noon. Door prizes, gift raffles and refreshments available.

Library to welcome local author

SINCLAIRVILLE — The Sinclairville Free Library is pleased to welcome author Mindy Nichols Wendell, on Monday at 6 pm. Wendell is author of “Light and Air.” She writes middle grade historical fiction. Before beginning her writing career, she taught writing and literature at SUNY Fredonia for more than 30 years. She lives in Western New York with her husband. “Light and Air” is Mindy’s debut novel.

The library will be closed on Monday, May 26 in observance of Memorial Day. It will reopen on Wednesday, May 28 at 9 a.m.
