Sunday breakfast, officer installation set
Forest Lodge 166 F&AM will be holding its last monthly Sunday Family Breakfast for the season on Father’s Day from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.This all-you-can-eat breakfast will consist of Eggs made to order, Pancakes or French Toast, Sausages, Fruit Cocktail, Juice, Milk, Coffee, and Tea. Adults and teenagers 13 and up are $12, children, 5-12, $6. Youth under 5 are free. This breakfast is open to the public, and everyone is welcome and cordially invited to attend.
The Lodge will also be holding a public ceremony of Installation of Officers, and annual awards night, at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Officers who have been elected for the ensuing year will be installed into their positions.
Annual years-of-service awards will be presented, as well as a Dedicated Service Award to be presented to Past Master David Ludemann. There will be a dinner prior to the installation and awards ceremonies at 6:30. Please RSVP for the dinner by contacting Lodge Secretary James Stoll at (716)965-2051.
At both events, anyone with interests in, or having questions about FreeMasonry will be given a tour of the building at the asking. Forest Lodge is located at 321 E. Main St., Fredonia.
Local authors to be in Cassadaga
CASSADAGA — The Cassadaga Library will host multiple local authors including Lynda Barber, Erin Gray, Trenton Lutes, Nick Smith, Jason Bussman and Joan Wahl to discuss their work. The authors will explain their process, answer questions about writing and publishing. You can also purchase an autographed copy of their books. The event is Thursday from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
Rails to Trails plans June 21 picnic
WESTFIELD — A family picnic is planned by Chautauqua Rails to Trails on this, the inaugural event on the first Chautauqua Trails Day. The event is open to the public at noon Saturday, June 21 at the Prospect Station Trailhead. The organization will supply hot dogs, fruit salad, lemonade, and water. Participants are welcome to bring a dish to share and a chair. Additional tables are welcome.
The approximate address is 7000 Fish Road, Westfield, which is 500 feet from the trailhead. A hike north on the trail will follow for those so inclined. The more trail lovers, the merrier!
Vegetarian Society to meet June 22
JAMESTOWN — The Chautauqua Vegetarian Society’s June meeting will take place on June 22. Presenters will share tried and true recipes for Vegan cheeses. These recipes are easy, healthy, and a great alternative to dairy cheeses. They’ll demonstrate a few recipes and give ideas for many more options. Attendees will have the opportunity to taste test a few varieties including cheese spread, cheese sauce, and a multipurpose mozzarella. It’s time for our first ever Vegan Cheese Fest!
The Meeting/Potluck Dinner will take place from 1 – 3 p.m. at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 130 McDaniel Ave. The cost will be $2 if you bring a dish to share and $6 without a shared dish. For reservations call Gail at 716 753-7761 or RSVP through our Chautauqua Vegetarian Society Facebook page.
