HANOVER — The organizational meeting of the Bay Creek Fire District will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, July 23 at the Town of Hanover Town Hall. A regular meeting of the Fire District will follow immediately thereafter at the same location.
Lakeshore Humane Society sets membership meeting

Ethics board to meet Tuesday
MAYVILLE — The Chautauqua County Ethics Board will be holding a meeting on Tuesday at 1 p.m. in Room 333 of the Gerace Office Building, 3 N. Erie St.

gathers Tuesday

Dems gather Saturday
BROCTON — The Brocton-Portland Democratic Committee will be seeking candidates for the village of Brocton and town of Portland to be nominated at the Democrat Caucus on Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Portland Town Hall, 87 W. Main St., to run in the Nov. 4 general election,
The positions are two Brocton village trustees (four-year term) and in the town of Portland, town supervisor, town clerk, two town council members, town Highway Superintendent and tax collector. All positions are for a four-year term. Anyone interested should contact Dan Schrantz at 716-785-2723 for more information. We need Democrats to step forward to get involved in becoming a member of the committee or would like to help in any way.
Anyone is welcome to attend but only registered Democrats in the village of Brocton or town of Portland can make nominations and vote at the caucus.
