Vegetarian/Vegan Society plans meal
WESTFIELD — The August meeting of the Chautauqua Vegetarian/Vegan Society will take place on Sunday, Aug. 17 from 1 to 3 p.m., at the YWCA.
Following the Potluck dinner there will be a speaker. The group will welcome the August speaker: Carol Markham from the Chautauqua Watershed Conservancy. Markham is knowledgeable about native plants and their important part in our ecosystem. She helps people look at their yards and figure out how to make them more sustainable environments for our area.
Bring a Vegan dish to share for the dinner. The cost will be $2 if you bring a dish to pass or $6 without a dish.

Fredonia Ukulele set for Saturday
Fredonia Ukulele will gather Saturday at Domus Fare Restaurant, 41 W. Main St. Fredonia from 5 to 7 p.m. Play immediately (all ability levels); no experience necessary. The group is all about making music as a community. The goal is to have fun and to make music. Ukuleles provided or bring your own. Play, sing, or just enjoy listening. Come and go as you please.
Church planning Aug. 23 yard sale
Fredonia Presbyterian Church is having its annual Yard Sale to support Western New York organizations on Saturday, Aug. 23 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 219 Central Ave. in Fredonia.
