State offers update on foliage
Peak foliage will arrive this weekend throughout much of Long Island while making its final appearances in the Finger Lakes and Hudson Valley regions. Foliage in New York City will range from midpoint to near peak of change. This is according to the field reports from volunteer observers for the Empire State Development Division of Tourism’s I LOVE NY program.
Locations with peak foliage will include Poughkeepsie, Cold Spring, Bear Mountain and White Plains in the Hudson Valley; West Hempstead, Manhasset, Old Westbury, West Babylon, East Islip and Great River on Long Island; Rochester, Canandaigua and Geneseo in the Finger Lakes; Fonda in Central New York; and Lake George in the Adirondacks.
