Legion Auxiliary meets Tuesday
CASSADAGA — The Cassadaga Legion Auxiliary will hold their regular monthly meeting Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. All members are encouraged to attend; we have important functions coming up that we need your assistance with. The 2026 dues are now dues. Members can pay at the meeting.
Fred Basket lists hours for month
On Saturday, Nov. 15, Fred Basket previously known as The Fredonia Food Pantry will be open from 10 a.m. to noon at Fredonia Presbyterian Church at 219 Central Ave and additionally, on Wednesdays from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. Guests may only receive one helping a month. These new hours hope to serve those who cannot attend Saturdays. The food pantry serves the needs of residents of Fredonia, ZIP code 14063, Pomfret, Sheridan, and Laona. All guests receive one or more bags of non-perishable food. Number of bags given out depends on family size.
Also this month, the pantry will be open Tuesday, Nov. 25 instead of Wednesday, Nov. 26.
Poetry events planned in Sinclairville
SINCLAIRVILLE — A Poetry Class and Workshop on Thursday from 4 to 6 p.m. Join John Brantingham, professor emeritus of creative writing for a free poetry class and workshop. Brantingham will help you write poetry and publish it in magazines. Students have published in The New Yorker, McSweeney’s, and The Paris Review among other places. The class is completely free.
Poetry Reading with Poets, T Anders Carson and Kendall Johnson will follow at 6. Program is presented by author/educator Brantingham and is open to the community.
