Backstreet Girls announce grand opening
SOUTH DAYTON — Cold winter brings thoughts of what can happen come springtime in South Dayton.
The Backstreet Girls are a team of volunteers joining together to provide an opportunity for local craftspeople to display and sell their handcrafted items in a central location and are having a grand opening Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Creation of the Backstreet Girls is an idea of three of the Downtown Gals Cindy Lauer, Karen Meyers and Karen Strickland. Their location is the former Astry’s Hardware, 122 Oak Street,
The craft shop will be open three seasons from March through the last Saturday before Christmas.
Hours are Friday afternoons 4 to 7 and Saturday mornings 9 a.m to 1 p.m.
Also, the store will be open for tour groups and community events. Vendors supply their own tables and displays. Consignment fee will be deducted from the selling price. For more information, please contact Cindy Lauer at 716-986-0358.
Slovenian Club to host indoor sale, raffle
GOWANDA — On Saturday, March 21, the Slovenian Club of Gowanda will hold an Indoor Yard Sale with Basket Raffle from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Club located at 36 Palmer St. A variety of goods from Easter candy to silver jewelry, household goods will be available along with refreshments and lunch soup and sandwich specials. Proceeds from the event will benefit the club’s community service projects.
