Apple Butter Fest set for Oct. 11 WESTFIELD — The West Portland Baptist Church, 7081 E. Route 20, Westfield, will be hosting its 11th annual Apple Butter Festival on Saturday, Oct. 11 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event will have old-fashioned kettle cooked apple butter available for a donation and there will be more than 40 vendors offering various sale items including food vendors. Mural event moving forward Sept. 20 Due to international travel issues, Alain Welter, the Dunkirk Mural Artist from Luxemburg, is still delayed in getting into the country. However, organizers still plan to hold the event as a kick-off celebration, with a variety of activities planned. NCCS planning chicken barbecue Northern Chautauqua Catholic School will be hosting a drive-through only chicken barbecue by Weidner’s on Sunday Oct. 12 from noon to 3 p.m. at Holy Trinity Church on Central Avenue in Dunkirk. Dinners include half barbecued chicken with mashed potatoes, gravy and a vegetable.
