The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office has released some information following a vehicle pursuit that began Tuesday in Pennsylvania and ended over the state line in the town of Harmony.

The suspect, who was not identified, is wanted on charges in Pennsylvania.

At about 7 p.m., the pursuit entered New York, when a vehicle entered a ditch at the corner of Kortwright and Niobe roads in Harmony.

“The subject fled into a wooded area on foot,” the Sheriff’s Office said in a news release. “The area was searched by multiple law enforcement agencies and K-9 units. The subject was not immediately located and the search ended at about 9:30 p.m.

“The suspect involved in the incident is wanted on charges of out of Pennsylvania. There is no indication the suspect remained in New York state. However, if anyone suspicious is seen in the area, please do not hesitate to call the Sheriff’s Office.”
