SILVER CREEK — The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office has apprehended the suspect wanted in a Florida aggravated assault at 15 Elm St. after a lengthy standoff.

The wanted fugitive from Florida, Timothy G Winford, 38, peacefully surrendered to authorities without incident around 1:30 p.m. Thursday.

Winford was taken into custody to be transported to the Chautauqua County Jail as a fugitive from justice on the Florida charge of “Aggravated Assault without a weapon with the intent to kill.”

The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office were assisted by the SWAT Team, Crisis Negotiation Team, CCSO K9 Units and Emergency Services.
