Jamestown man sentenced to state prison

Kevin Philbrick

A Jamestown man has been sentenced to state prison following a March robbery incident.

Kevin Philbrick will serve between 1 1/3 to four years in prison after being sentenced Monday by County Court Judge David Foley. The 23-year-old was convicted on charges of third-degree robbery and two counts of second-degree attempted assault, the Chautauqua County District Attorney’s Office announced.

The sentence is the result of an incident in March in which Philbrick allegedly forced an ex-girlfriend at gunpoint to return a pair of shoes. The wanted city man, according to Jamestown police at the time, was seen in the area of Chandler and Franklin streets the morning of March 24 before leading officers on a brief foot pursuit that ended on nearby train tracks.
