Two staying at hotel facing drug, weapon charges

MAYVILLE – Two people staying at a hotel have been arrested on drug charges.

According to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, a narcotics investigation on Tuesday led to the execution of a search warrant at an address on West Lake Road, Mayville. Investigators from Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, Jamestown Police Department, and the Dunkirk Police Department had received information that persons staying in room 206 were in possession of narcotics.

Investigators obtained and then executed a search warrant. Located in the room at the time of the search was Glen Barrett, 49, of Jamestown and Chelsie Paulk, 35, of Cleveland.

A search of the room allegedly resulted in the seizure of 3 grams of methamphetamine, 12.3 grams of fentanyl, 28.6 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, 62 dosage units of suboxone, 58 grams of alprazolam, .6 grams of cocaine, a .22 cal. handgun, a .38 cal. handgun, scales and packaging material and $582 US currency.

They were both charged with third- and fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia, and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon. Barrett was additionally charged with third-degree criminal possession of a weapon while Paulk was additionally charged with criminal possession of a firearm.

Both suspects were transported to the Chautauqua County Jail for the Centralized Arraignment Program.
