Unoccupied car fires in Cherry Creek probed
CHERRY CREEK — A pair of car fires are being investigated.
At 6:09 a.m. Sunday, the Cherry Creek Fire Department responded to Dredge Ditch Road for a reported vehicle fire. The Chautauqua County Fire Investigation Team was requested to the scene to conduct an origin and cause fire investigation. Through investigation it was determined that two unoccupied vehicles were intentionally set on fire.
At this time the fire is being ruled as incendiary in nature and the investigation is on-going. The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Jamestown Police Department, Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office K9 Division, and the Cherry Creek Fire Department.
