A lake-effect snow warning is in effect until 1 p.m. Tuesday in Chautauqua County.

The National Weather Service said the heavy lake-effect snow could bring an additional 8 to 11 inches in the most persistent lake snows across the Chautauqua Ridge, with 4 to 8 inches expected in other areas.

Travel will be difficult and the hazardous conditions could impact the Monday and Tuesday morning commutes.

The heaviest snowfall is expected to occur late Monday night into early Tuesday morning.
