Man charged in Fredonia armed robbery
A man is being charged after an armed robbery in downtown Fredonia on Thursday afternoon.
At 4 p.m., the Fredonia Police Department received a 911 call reporting the incident had occurred at DP Dough at 13 E. Main St. A description of the assailant and last known direction of travel was obtained.
After a radio broadcast, assistance was received from officers of the City of Dunkirk Police. Members of the Fredonia and Dunkirk Police Departments located an individual matching the description, hiding and then fleeing in a nearby creek bed. The subject was shortly thereafter taken into custody, at which time the proceeds of the robbery, and elements of the crime were located.
Damian T. Miller was charged with third-degree robbery, a violent felony and criminal possession of stolen property. He was transferred to the Chautauqua County Jail where he was held for arraignment.
The Fredonia Police thanked the city of Dunkirk Police and the Chautauqua County district attorney for their assistance.
