This photo was taken around 4:30 p.m. on Ryan Place in the village.

Some roads in Fredonia are being affected by high water from a day of rain.

Fredonia Mayor Mayor Michael Ferguson posted on Facebook: “Folks flooding beginning to happen throughout the village due to the amount of water coming down right now. Several homes throughout the village threatened or already receiving water. Too much water right now. Check you basement and get valuable boxes off your basement floor … just in case. The DPW is doing its best right now.”

A Flood Watch also has been issued for parts of Western New York with strong winds anticipated, with gusts of 60 to 70 mph possible.

The New York State Department of Transportation is advising motorists that the Skyway (State Route 5) in the City of Buffalo, Erie County, will be closed in both directions beginning at 6 a.m. on Monday until further notice, at the request of the City of Buffalo, due to high winds forecasted.

Starting at $3.50/week.
