Staffing issues lead to change in city clerk-treasurer’s office hours

Due to ongoing staffing issues within the Clerk-Treasurer’s Office, temporary office hours will be implemented until further notice in order to maintain efficient customer service and ensure timely processing of mailed-in services and administrative responsibilities. Effective immediately, the new office hours for the City of Dunkirk Clerk-Treasurer’s Office will be: Mondays and Wednesdays, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The office will be clsed Friday. Man in Westfield shooting faces new charge

A Westfield man, who is being held on $1 million bail after allegedly trying to murder a woman in March in the village, is facing an additional charge. On Monday, an investigation was conducted by the Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Division. It was found that Jahmaul W. Johnson, 53, did contact an individual who had a valid stay away order of protection against him.
