JAMESTOWN --- A child has been killed near Fletcher Elementary School in Jamestown after being struck by a school bus. The area around Fletcher Elementary School was closed while parents were dropping children off Monday morning while Jamestown police officers investigated an accident involving a school bus. Winter weather advisory in effect through Monday afternoon

A winter weather advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service for Chautauqua and Cattaraugus counties until 1 p.m. Monday. Forecasters say that lake effect snows are expected with total snow accumulations 4 to 7 inches in the most persistent lake snows across the higher terrain inland from Lake Erie. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph will produce blowing and drifting snow. The greatest accumulations will be across the higher terrain inland from the Lake Erie shore. Sinclairville man charged after use of shotgun in dispute

SINCLAIRVILLE --- A village man is facing charges after discharging a shotgun during an altercation. Around 11:34 p.m. Saturday, the Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office and New York State Police responded to an address on Main Street. Upon arrival, units learned that the male was identified as 28-year-old William F. Borkowski Jr. and had fled the scene.
