A man is being charged after an armed robbery in downtown Fredonia on Thursday afternoon. At 4 p.m., the Fredonia Police Department received a 911 call reporting the incident had occurred at DP Dough at 13 E. Main St. A description of the assailant and last known direction of travel was obtained. After a radio broadcast, assistance was received from officers of the City of Dunkirk Police. A train hit a tractor trailer at 3742 Progress Drive on Wednesday morning. Departments responding include East Dunkirk, Sheridan, and Emergency Services as well as the New York State Police. The incident was called in around 7:37 a.m. Injuries are unknown at this time.
