UPDATE: Several confirmed fatalities in Thruway bus crash

The New York State Police reported this afternoon are investigating a serious bus crash that occurred on Interstate 90 eastbound between exits 48A and 49 in the town of Pembroke around 1:45 p.m. Preliminary reports indicate the bus, carrying more than 50 passengers, overturned. Multiple individuals have been injured, with several confirmed fatalities. Emergency personnel, including State Police, local first responders, and multiple medical helicopters, are on scene providing aid and transporting victims to area hospitals. State Gov. City woman charged in Wednesday stabbing

A stabbing incident on Wednesday afternoon has led to charges against a city woman. Dunkirk police report that at about 2:30 p.m. they received a report of an incident on the 500 block of Leopard Street. Upon arrival, patrol located the male victim who alleged that, Layla Garcia, 23, of 522 Leopard St., stabbed him in the arm with a pair of scissors and hit him with a crowbar. Forestville man charged in multiple sex crimes

A 77-year-old Forestville man has been charged with multiple sex crimes that took place this month. On Saturday, the Bureau of Criminal Investigation out of State Police at Fredonia charged Terry D. Strong Sr. with third-degree patronizing a person for prostitution and two counts of forcible touching. An investigation determined on Aug. 1, Strong provided a ride in a vehicle to a woman who was walking home from Dollar General in Brocton.
