Anderson Cuddihy Inc. to host wine event

Andersen Cuddihy Incorporated, a financial planning firm in Fredonia, will hold its third annual wine tasting charity event on Thursday, April 27 at 6 p.m. to benefit the Chautauqua Hospice and Palliative Care.

The event will be held at Liberty Winery and Vineyards in Sheridan, where the community will enjoy an evening of wine and hors d’oeuvres in an effort to give back to the people they serve. The proceeds from wine purchases will be donated to Chautauqua Hospice and Palliative Care. There is no admission fee and guests will have the ability to purchase tickets to win one of 10-plus baskets that were donated by local businesses. For the second consecutive year, Donna Thompson and the team at Integrated Benefit Solutions have worked together to put on this event.

Always looking for ways to give back to their local community, Rick Andersen and Jack Cuddihy of Andersen Cuddihy Incorporated hosted their first ever wine tasting charity event in December of 2014. The event raised enough funds to allow the Chautauqua Rural Ministry to purchase over 6,000 pounds of food amid the holiday season. The food was distributed between many of the ministry’s services including the Emergency Food Pantry, which distributes 100,000 meals annually and the Friendly Kitchen, which serves 17 meals a week.

“Andersen Cuddihy and Integrated Benefit Solutions view this event as a way to give back to the community that has been very good to us. We hope to continue this as an annual event as the need within the community continues,” Cuddihy said.

This year’s beneficiary is Chautauqua Hospice and Palliative Care. Its mission is to provide end of life education and care to Chautauqua County. The caregivers at Chautauqua Hospice take an interdisciplinary team approach to patient aid. Along with individual attention to each patient, team members meet with patients and their families weekly to review all aspects and changes of every patient’s care strategy. Chautauqua Hospice and Palliative Care have a large panel of caretakers, including their Medical Director, Dr. Thomas Putnam, who is the only board certified palliative care physician in Chautauqua County. There are also nurses, social workers, bereavement counselors, chaplains, home health aides, therapists and a plethora of highly trained volunteers.

This year, the event will be held at Liberty Winery and Vineyards, in Sheridan. Liberty Winery is family owned and committed to producing award-winning wines for every palate. They received the 2016 Winery Award from the New York Wine & Grape Foundation at its annual Unity Banquet at the RIT Conference Center during Cornell Cooperative Extension’s B.E.V. NY Symposium. Space is limited so those who are interested are asked to please RSVP no later than Thursday, April 20 to Andersen Cuddihy Inc. at 952-4402 or to Integrated Benefit Solutions at 384-4045.
