Applebee’s to hold Step Up for Autism fundraisers today

The community can support people with autism by dining at Applebee’s today, Sept. 27.

From 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. today, the Applebee’s restaurants on Fairmount Avenue in Lakewood and Vineyard Drive in Dunkirk are prepared to donate 10 percent of the cost of each meal (excluding tax and tip) to the 2017 Step Up for Autism celebration.

To have 10 percent of the price paid for the meal donated to Step Up for Autism, one must present a voucher provided by Applebee’s. The voucher can be found at www.stepupforautism.com. Those unable to print the voucher can contact Mary Johnson at 661-1465 and she can fax or email the voucher to the person requesting it.

The eighth annual Step Up for Autism takes place Saturday at The Resource Center’s administrative offices at 200 Dunham Avenue in Celoron. Events include a 1.5-mile walk, children’s activities, lunch, and a sweets auction. Proceeds will go to Filling the Gap, Inc., and The Resource Center to support people on the autism spectrum. For more information, call 661-1477 or visit the website.
