Jeffrey Hornburg seeks Silver Creek mayor position

Jeffrey Hornburg

SILVER CREEK — Jeffrey Hornburg is announcing his candidacy for the position of mayor in the village of Silver Creek. He has served as a trustee for the village for the past two years. Hornburg has been endorsed by the Silver Creek Republican and Conservative parties.

“Together with my fellow board members, we have reduced taxes for the past two years. We have also worked with the Town of Hanover to consolidate and share services for both municipalities. I will continue to explore every option presented to increase these results,” he said.

A lifelong resident of the village, Hornburg graduated from Silver Creek High School, and attended Genesee Community College in Batavia. Together with his wife Sandy, they raised two daughters, Kara Kawski and Kimberly Kuras, who still reside in the immediate area and afford them the opportunity of watching them raise their four grandchildren, Macy and Zack Kawski and Morgan and Tyler Kuras.

Hornburg began his career working for his father, Gilbert Hornburg in the family trucking business, Harry Hornburg and Son, Inc. Upon his fathers retirement, he added H&H Automotive, an NAPA-affiliated parts store in the village. Currently, he am employed by Pro Oil, Inc. in Silver Creek, serving as their dispatcher.

Civic memberships include the Silver Creek Kiwanis Club, the Festival of Grapes organization, and Past Master of Silver Lodge 757 Free and Accepted Masons of which he is a 30-year member.

Hornburg is a past president of the Silver Creek Jaycees and also served as a District Deputy and a Regional Director of the New York State Jaycees.

He served as a member of the Village of Silver Creek Zoning Board of Appeals, and as its chairman.

“I am concerned about the future of our village. We have a decreasing tax base and an increasing tax burden. Growth is necessary to keep our village vibrant and we need a transparent, common-sense government to keep us solvent. I feel my past business experience, and my civic memberships give me the qualifications to assist our current village board as we continue to strive to keep Silver Creek a great place to live,” he added.

Hornburg asks for your support and your vote on Nov. 7.
