Access programming set for Aug. 18-24

“Defenders of Freedom” will air at 12:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., featuring interviews of World War II veterans Walter Pfleuger, Don Carlson, Ray Hagstrom and Carl Swanson.

“Chautauqua People,” hosted by John Viehe, will be at 1:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. The guest is Ed Evans, a graduate of Chautauqua High School and Fredonia Sate. Evans is a frequent contributor to the Chautauqua Heritage Lecture Series and has taught media subjects at SUNY Broome for the past 11 years.

“Chautauqua Sunrise,” hosted by Doc Hamels, will have guest Jim Wakeman speaking on the Rotary’s Polio Plus Challenge. The program airs live at 9 a.m. on Saturday only, then repeats at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m.

“Fresh Perspectives,” hosted by Gail Erb, airs at 3 p.m. and 9 p.m. with guest Kay Barlow. The topic will be teaching music classes for young children.

Repeat programming is typically re-aired throughout the week at other various time slots.

All programming starts on Saturday, Aug. 18 and continues until Friday, Aug. 24.

Access Chautauqua, formerly Access Channel 5, is available to cable viewers in the Chautauqua, Mayville, North Harmony, Portland, Ripley, Sherman and Westfield areas, and can be found on cable channel 1301.

The programs may also be viewed after the initial airing at the station’s web site https://accesschautauquacountytv.org.
