Lily Dale is celebrating its history with the Women’s Suffrage Movement this Sunday, with its Women’s Day Event. The events began last year with the 100th anniversary of NYS women getting the right to vote, and will continue through 2020 and the 100th anniversary of the passage of the 19th Amendment. This year’s events begin in the fire hall at 11 a.m., including hat making and a historical exhibit. There will be a 2:30 p.m. service in the Auditorium featuring historical characters such as Abby Pettengill, Marion Skidmore and Susan B. Anthony, followed by a Women’s Suffrage parade and ice cream social. In the evening there is a walking Her-Story Tour of Lily Dale that will highlight important women from Lily Dale’s past including Suffragists and women from other eras.
