Submitted Photo The Patterson Library auction is set for Wednesday.

WESTFIELD — Patterson Library is now taking donations for its benefit auction and chicken barbecue dinner. The library will be accepting antiques, baked goods, furniture, services, collectibles and more.

The auction will take place at Eason Hall on Wednesday, Aug. 15. The preview and silent auction will take place from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Dinner will take place from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. and the regular auction will begin at 6:45 p.m. Admission to the auction is free, but the barbecue dinner will cost $12 per person pre-sale only.

Tickets are available to purchase at the main desk of the Patterson Library, or from a library trustee.

The barbecue dinner will include chicken barbecue from Chiavetta’s, potato salad, baked beans, rolls, non-alcoholic beverages, and dessert. Attendees of the auction will get to bid on basket raffles, wine baskets, gift certificates to local businesses, and, for the first time ever, a jet ski and trailer.

“Nothing warms our hearts more than seeing the community come together at the auction,” said Amy Stephenson, interim library director. “It’s always a big night for the library and helps us continue to purchase books, DVDs, and new technology.”

For more information regarding donations and the benefit auction and chicken barbecue, visit the main desk of the Patterson Library, or call the library at 326-2154.
