A Fredonia man is facing rape charges following an investigation.

An investigation was conducted by the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division into a report of a suspicious situation.

It was found that on various dates and times in March 2017, Joshua Northrop-Dowdall, 27, of Fredonia, did reportedly engage in sexual acts with a juvenile victim.

A warrant was issued for the arrest of Northrop-Dowdall, and he was arrested on Monday for four counts of second-degree rape. Northrop-Dowdall was arraigned in Chautauqua County Court and committed to Chautauqua County Jail.
