Fredonia highlights completion of projects

Through the efforts of Mayor Athanasia Landis and Department of Public Works Supervisor Tony Gugino, several long awaited public works projects have recently been completed, the village noted in a press release to the OBSERVER.

The Eagle Street facility has been cleaned and organized. The East and West parking lots have been repaired. The bank of Wiley Creek has been stabilized. The dead trees have been removed from Russell Joy Park. The storm water system has received preventive maintenance. A drainage project was completed on Chestnut Street.

Perhaps the most noticeable of these projects is the front steps of Village Hall. What is less noticeable, but equally noteworthy, is that according to the release, the project was completed at half of the cost of the proposed engineering study alone and $30,000 less than what had been budgeted.
